The Bandra Police have registered a case of molestation after a 16 year-old girl was allegedly touched in an objectionable manner by her uncle and his three sons. The police have so far booked four people in the case but, no arrests have been made yet. The accused have been identified as Javed Sayyed — the victim’s uncle while Imran Sayyed, Mohammed Sayyed and Hussain Sayyed are the three sons of Javed.

According to the victim’s family, the first incident was reported on October 29, when the victim, who was at the terrace of her Bandra residence, was approached and molested by her uncle Javed. “The girl had carried a tub of clothes to the terrace and climbed a ladder to hang the clothes. Her uncle held the ladder. When the girl lost her balance and fell, her uncle on the pretext of ‘help’, touched her inappropriately. On the next day, Imran, Mohammed and Hussain approached the girl and molested her on finding an opportunity,” a relative of the victim said.

As per police reports, the victim’s father and his six brothers live in the same locality in Bandra and get into frequent conflicts over property. After the incident, both parties have registered cross-complaints against each other at different police stations. The police believe the matter to be part of their regular conflicts and are investigating the case to establish facts.

“A case has been registered under section 354, 509 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and section 8 and 12 of Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the matter is being investigated. Some technicalities of the case is being probed and so far no arrest has been made.” said senior police inspector of Bandra Police Station, Girish Anavkar.
