A person, alongside along with his two staff, allegedly murdered his elder brother over some enterprise clashes in Kopri, Thane, on June 2 and tried to move it off as an accident.

All three hit the person with a heavy iron object and positioned his physique at a widely known grocery store owned by the household. They claimed that the person by accident fell off a 7 ft ladder and died. During the postmortem, Kopri police officers discovered one thing suspicious and investigated the matter resulting in the arrest of the three males.

The deceased was recognized as Mahesh Chawla, 48, whereas the accused, who was his youthful brother, was recognized as Anil Chawla, 45. According to police officers, each the brothers had expanded their small store into a giant grocery store and have been working it for a few years.

On June 2, the Kopri police acquired a name at round 7.30 pm about Mahesh Chawla’s fall and his subsequent loss of life. Since it was an accident, the police despatched the physique for the postmortem.

Kopri police station, crime police inspector, D Gawde mentioned there have been many discrepancies within the household’s assertion. He mentioned, “According to family and the younger brother, the incident happened around 3 pm and police were informed late. Moreover, they took him to the hospital around 5 pm which was much later than the fall. The doctor who conducted the postmortem said that there were many brutal injures on the head which is not possible by a fall”.

The police instantly began an investigation and questioned the opposite two males concerned who have been recognized as Abhay Agnihotri, 20, and Shobit Singh, 19. The duo confessed that along with Anil Chawla, they carried out Mahesh Chawla’s homicide by hitting him with an iron stool and different tools at another place after which they introduced him to the store and tried to move it as an accident.

Gawde additional added, “We are yet to get details about the reason behind the murder as we arrested the accused late on July 3 and are yet to interrogate him. As per the employees, they had some business-related issues. We have arrested all three accused in the case.”
