Representative Scott Perry of Pennsylvania organized for Trump to fulfill Jeffrey Bossert Clark, a Justice Department official who Trump thought of naming to exchange Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen earlier this month, the newspaper reported.

Clark, the Times reported, was sympathetic to Trump’s “Stop the Steal” marketing campaign, and he met with Perry to debate a plan to have the Justice Department ship Georgia a letter disclosing the division could be investigating the election outcomes.

Reuters has not independently verified the small print of the New York Times report, which cited a number of nameless former officers.
