In a lift to suburban railway connectivity between town and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) by means of a brand new suburban railway hall, the Maharashtra authorities and Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) on Thursday signed a monetary settlement for tasks beneath Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP) 3.
The tasks, for which the Subsidiary Finance Agreement (SFA) has been signed, embrace a brand new suburban railway hall between Panvel and Karjat railway stations for an estimated price of ₹2,783 crore, procurement of 47 air-conditioned (AC) native trains price ₹3,491 crore; quadrupling of railway line between Virar and Dahanu railway station for ₹3,578 crore; elevated railway hall between Airoli and Kalwa railway stations for ₹476 crore; management on midsection trespassing for ₹551 crore; and technical assist for ₹69 crore.
The general price of the undertaking is ₹10,947 crore and shall be funded on a 50:50 ratio between the state authorities and Indian Railways.
MUTP-Three bought nod from the Centre in 2016 and has a completion deadline of 2022. The state authorities had, in August 2019, termed the tasks beneath MUTP-Three as important to the state.
“A financial agreement was signed with the state government. It includes projects of MUTP-3,” mentioned RS Khurana, chairman and managing director of MRVC.
The settlement will even contain funding from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco).
The work on midsection trespass management on the railway traces has began and MRVC has began the method of tendering for different tasks.
