Three senior officers of a liquor manufacturing firm, together with its proprietor, have been arrested by Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) in Bhopal on Wednesday evening. They have been arrested for supplying Rs 20 crore price hand sanitiser with out paying GST.
The firm produces liquor beneath a well-liked model.
“Three senior executive/owners of the company were arrested for supplying more than Rs 20 crore hand sanitiser without bills and payment of goods and sales tax (GST),” a DGGI official stated after the arrest.
The DGGI didn’t disclose the names of individuals arrested. However, it stated, “They have been taken to JP Hospital for a medical examination. They were arrested under Section 69 of CGST Act.”
Earlier, the Madhya Pradesh unit of the DGGI claimed to have unearthed tax evasion of greater than Rs 500 crore on a part of a gutkha and cigarette producer in Indore in June. The proprietor of the corporate was arrested too.
The DGGI is the apex intelligence and investigative company for issues referring to violation of the products and repair tax, Central Excise obligation and repair tax, as per the company’s info.
